In the spirit of hometown community banking, nine individuals, all with ties to Lawrence, organized what has become The University National Bank. UNB has flourished in its short 15-year existence. As other banks in town have been absorbed into larger, more impersonal institutions, UNB has remained true to its core purpose: to provide value-added banking services to the Lawrence community by sticking to what we know best.

We have become the leader in home-mortgage lending in Douglas County, exceeding all other institutions in loan originations for 2001, 2002 and 2003. We're also among the leaders in small-business lending. We are committed to encouraging economic growth and job creation by financing entrepreneurial enterprises.
